I will teach you to make one.
You do not need any experience, and you do not need to own a single tool. You leave having made a wallet yourself, start to finish.
Friday 15 August, at the bench.
Everything provided — leather, tools, thread, the lot. Ten seats, so I get to everyone.
Ten seats only.
What you will actually do.
The hide
What leather actually is, how it is made, and why full grain behaves differently to everything else on the shelf.
The tools
Every tool on the bench, what it does, and the handful you actually need to start at home.
Cutting
Choosing your piece of hide, marking the pattern, and the first cut. This is the part everyone is nervous about.
The saddle stitch
Two needles, locked. The stitch that will not unravel even if you cut it. This is the skill worth having.
Edges and finish
Bevelling, sanding and burnishing. The work nobody sees and everybody feels.
Branding and pricing
How to finish to a professional standard, and how to think about selling if you want to take it further.
To God be the glory
